Keeping your cat indoors
There are many good reasons to why you should keep your cat indoors, it is a proven fact that indoor cats go on to live a lot longer than cats that are allowed to roam. Below are some of the positive reasons why your cat would benefit from being indoors.
Traffic
It is a hard hitting fact that more and more cats get knocked down and killed every year.
Cruelty
Not everyone is a cat lover and unfortunately there are people who find enjoyment from hurting animals. This is something we hear more and more of in the press.
Injuries
If your cat goes out, it may get into fights over territories etc. Fighting can lead to injuries that need medical attention. Wounds unfortunately often lead to disease being spread.
Disease
Even if your pet is vaccinated, it runs the risk of serious diseases: Leukemia , FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) being just two of the diseases that cannot be treated, these can be spread by saliva and biting.
Wildlife
Studies done over the last 50 years have demonstrated the particularly heavy impact cats have had on bird populations throughout the world.
Spraying
When cats go outside they smell other cats' territorial markings. This may prompt your cat to start spraying inside the house to mark his territory.
